We shaped the top with an open polo neckline and a clean, straight hem. The matching shorts sit on an elasticated waistband that stays flat against the waist. We chose a soft knit fabric in khaki that gives easily when you move and recovers its line after washing.

What went into it

The details we cut in

Split polo collar

We set an open V-neck into a classic turn-down collar so the shirt lies flat across the collarbone without buttons or hardware. The short sleeves are cut wide at the cuff to keep air moving.

Elasticated shorts waist

The shorts pull on over an enclosed elastic band that gathers the fabric evenly around the waistline. We cut the rise high so the waistband stays seated while you walk, sit, or pack.

Deep side pockets

We built functional slip pockets directly into the side seams of the shorts. They sit flat against the hip when empty and are deep enough to hold a phone or travel keys.

Care and washing

Machine wash or hand wash in cold water with like colours. Hang on a line or drying rack to dry. A warm iron smooths out any packing folds without damaging the knit.
