We cut this fleece hood with an integrated lower panel that covers the chin and neck. The interior is soft and lofted, and the neck gaiter sits long enough to tuck straight into the collar of a winter coat. Dual cords tighten the opening down around the face when the wind picks up.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Sherpa fleece build
The fabric is a high-pile sherpa fleece that traps still air without adding rigid bulk. It stays flexible when folded down into a coat pocket, and the woven khaki plaid pattern runs across the outer face.
Hood and face panel
We designed the front opening to pull up over the nose or drop down beneath the chin. The hood volume allows space for tied-back hair or a knit beanie underneath.
Extended neck bib
The lower skirt extends past the collar line so it stays tucked beneath jacket zips. This eliminates gaps along the collarbone and keeps drafty air off the throat.
Dual drawstring adjusters
Cords on both sides cinch the face opening narrow. Pull them tight to close the gap around goggles, or leave them loose so the hood falls back as a cowl.
