We cut this cold-weather hood from high-loft sherpa fleece with an integrated face panel and an extended neck drape. Dual side drawcords let you cinch the opening close against wind or loosen it down around the collar. The dark gray shade coordinates easily with our heavier rain shells and winter coats.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Sherpa fleece build
We use a thick, lofted sherpa fleece that holds its shape while remaining pliable. The material is soft to the touch and packs flat into a coat pocket or travel bag without creasing.
Adjustable face opening
Two side drawcords run through the hood channel to adjust the face opening. Pull the front section up over the nose, drop it below the chin, or push the entire hood back to wear it as a neck gaiter.
Extended lower drape
The bottom panel is cut long through the chest and back to tuck securely beneath a jacket collar. This wide base keeps the neck covered during movement without pulling up out of your coat.
Laundering and care
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle to preserve the fleece loft and rinse clear. Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry, and do not use bleach or an iron on the sherpa nap.
