We cut this fleece hood with an integrated face panel and a long neck gaiter that tucks flat beneath a coat collar. The dense black sherpa fabric builds loft without adding rigid weight. Dual drawcords tighten the face opening against stiff wind, or let the piece drop down to rest loosely around the neck.

The details we cut in
Sherpa fleece build
The plush black fleece is densely knit with high loft to trap warm air around the ears, crown, and chin. It remains soft, flexible, and easy to pack down into a deep coat pocket.
Dual drawcord adjustment
We placed cord adjusters on both sides of the face opening. Pulling them cinches the hood close around goggles or a beanie, while releasing the tension lets the face cover drop beneath the chin.
Extended neck panel
The bottom hem extends low around the throat and chest. This extra length slides easily under jacket collars and windbreaker zips to close gaps where cold drafts tend to enter.
Simple laundry care
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like dark colours to maintain the fleece nap. Lay the hood flat or hang it to dry away from high heat.
