We cut this short jacket with a loose body and a cropped waist that sits cleanly over trousers. The front closure runs on a full zipper behind a storm flap, and the stand collar stays upright when fastened. It is sewn from a light woven cloth built for cool weather.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Stand collar and flap
The funnel neck buttons up to sit high against the throat. We placed a full front zipper beneath a broad storm flap to block drafts across the chest.
Sleeve and cuff finish
The sleeves are cut loose through the arm for easy layering over knitwear. Elastic gathers each cuff so the hem stays put at the wrist.
Pockets and hem cut
Side pockets sit forward on the front panels for your hands. We cropped the lower hem straight across, giving the coat a boxy hang that clears the hip.
Fabric and cold wash
This woven polyester shell is lightweight and holds its shape through regular wear. Machine wash cold or wash by hand, then hang the jacket to dry.
