We cut this short sleeve shirt from an airy chiffon that falls straight and stays cool in warm weather. The front buttons all the way up to a flat notched collar, and the raglan sleeve seams let the shoulders sit easy. Wear it buttoned on its own or open over a plain tank.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Camp collar and placket
The shirt opens with a neat notched collar that sits flat against the neck. Matching buttons run straight down the centre front, sewn securely through a clean turned placket.
Raglan short sleeves
Instead of a set-in armhole, we ran the shoulder seams on a diagonal from the collar to the underarm. That raglan line gives the upper arms room to move without pulling at the chest.
Chiffon weave and drape
The lightweight chiffon cloth has a fine, dry hand that lets air through and hangs without clinging. It keeps its drape through warm days and packs down flat without heavy creasing.
Care and washing
Machine wash on a low temperature cycle or wash by hand in cold water. Skip the bleach and hang the shirt on a line to dry so the cloth keeps its soft finish.
