We cut these lounge trousers from lightweight woven cotton in a pale yellow and white gingham. The straight legs fall cleanly from an elastic waistband to a plain turned hem. We added deep side pockets to keep the build practical for mornings at home or warm afternoons out.

The details we cut in

Cotton gingham weave

The lightweight cotton fabric is yarn-dyed in yellow and white checks. It breathes well in warm weather, holds a crisp drape without stiffness, and softens over repeated washes.

Elastic waistband

We gathered the top over a wide elastic band that stays flat against the waist. It pulls on without buttons, zips, or hardware to press into you while seated.

Straight leg cut

The legs are cut straight and loose through the thigh down to a wide open hem. This shape allows air to move through while keeping the trousers easy to step into.

Pockets and care

We set functional slip pockets into both side seams to hold small items. Machine wash on a gentle cold cycle with similar light colours, then line dry to preserve the weave.
