We cut this two piece set in a lightweight orange knit with contrast topstitching along the seams. The top has a simple crew neckline and wide armholes that stay clear of the underarm. Below, the matching shorts are shaped with an elasticated drawstring waistband and deep side pockets.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Neckline and shoulder cut
The pullover top is finished with a self-banded round neck that sits flat against the collarbone. We widened the shoulder strap slightly so it covers standard undergarment lines without bunching.
Waistband and pocket build
The shorts rely on an elastic waist anchored by a matching drawcord you can adjust across the day. Side seam pockets sit below the gathered band to take small items without pulling on the hem.
Fabric and contrast seams
We chose a light, breathable jersey for this set that drops straight without clinging. Visible contrast stitching frames the edges, giving the solid orange fabric a clean outline through the hem and shoulders.
Washing and care
Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water and hang to dry naturally. The fabric releases packing creases once washed and keeps its orange tone best when laundered without bleach.
