We cut this mid-layer from lightweight, lofted microfleece dyed a solid black. The clean stand collar sits close around the neck without bulk, so it layers smoothly under raincoats or trench coats. A straight hem and matching black hardware finish the front.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Six pocket construction
We placed zippered hand pockets on the outside and deep drop-in pockets on the inside. The inner pockets sit flat against the body, giving you secure storage for a wallet, cards, and phone without pulling the front zipper out of line.
Collar and front zipper
The full-length center front zipper runs straight into a high stand collar. It closes smoothly to the chin to keep drafts off the neck. Because we left off the hood, the collar rests flat under an outer shell.
Elastic cuffs and hem
We bound the wrists and the bottom hem with narrow elastic. The cuffs stay put over your watch when you push them up your forearms, and the hem holds gently against trousers or leggings without riding up.
Microfleece fabric and care
The dense polyester fleece resists surface pilling and provides warmth without heavy bulk. Machine wash in cold water with similar colors on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry to keep the loft intact.
