We cut this tunic with a split V-neck and short flutter sleeves trimmed in small ruffles. The knit fabric has plenty of stretch and falls cleanly over the hips. Soft front pleats drop from the collar into a loose body with a rounded hem. It wears well tucked into trousers or left out over plain shorts.

Flutter ruffle sleeves

We set the short sleeves with a light ruffle that widens toward the arm opening. The cut leaves plenty of room under the arm and sits flat against the shoulder seam without bunching.

V-neck and front pleat

The neckline opens into a sharp V trimmed with a flat band. Right below the point, pressed pleats release fabric through the torso to give the top an easy drape.

Curved tunic hem

We rounded the lower hem so it drops slightly lower in back than in front. The finish is turned and stitched with twin needles to keep the edge flat after repeated wear.

Cold water care

Wash this piece on a gentle cycle in cold water with similar darks. Skip the bleach and line dry out of direct sun to keep the black knit smooth and retain the stitch shape.
