A pencil-cut outer skirt conceals an interior pair of jersey shorts underneath. We chose a lightweight, stretchy knit printed in apricot with dots, so the piece pulls on smoothly and stays put as you move. It finishes high on the thigh with a simple stitched hem.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Built-in undershorts
We set an inner short directly beneath the outer pencil layer. The shorts are cut from the same flexible jersey, giving you full coverage without adding bulk along the hips.
Elastic waistband
A wide elastic band sits flat at the waist to keep the skirt secure. It pulls on without zips or buttons, sitting flush under knit tops, tucked tees, or cropped layers.
Fabric and print
The apricot base carries a small, regular polka dot pattern across the knit. We chose a soft stretch fabric with enough give to hold a close pencil line while letting you walk naturally.
Care and wash
Machine wash in cold water with similar colours on a gentle cycle. Hang or lay flat to dry to keep the stretch recover in the waistband and preserve the polka dot print.
