We cut this micro skirt with a low-rise waist and built-in jersey shorts underneath for full coverage. The stretch cloth holds close through the hips. A straight hem finishes the pencil line, printed with an irregular black and white zebra pattern.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Built-in undershorts
Underneath the mini skirt shell we stitch a pair of fitted jersey shorts. The interior legs stay in place when you walk and keep the outer hem sitting flat across the front.
Low-rise waistband
The waist sits lower on the hips with a clean folded band. We avoided side zips and buttons so the line remains flat under cropped tees, sweaters, or tight layers.
Zebra print fabric
The knit has enough give to pull on easily and recover its shape after wear. We ran a high-contrast zebra stripe across the piece, set with clean edges against a solid white ground.
Care and wash
Wash cold on a gentle cycle to keep the black dye crisp against the white base. Lay it flat or hang it to air dry so the internal shorts retain their stretch.
