We cut these sweatpants wide from hip to hem in a heavy, brushed-back fleece. The waistband sits low and secures with an interior drawstring to keep the outer front flat. Deep inset side pockets take a phone without pulling at the side seam. Royal blue throughout.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Wide leg cut
The leg falls straight and wide from the low-rise seat down to an open hem. The weight of the fleece gives the wide profile clean vertical lines that move easily without bunching around the ankles.
Brushed interior fleece
We chose a fleece knit with a smooth outer surface and a brushed, lofted inner face. It traps warmth and hangs with substantial drape, keeping its shape through regular wash cycles.
Internal drawstring waistband
The waistband holds a flat drawcord inside the channel rather than outside. You can adjust the tension directly against the waist while keeping the front profile clean under cropped sweaters.
Side pocket construction
Two vertical pockets sit set into the forward side seams. We lined them to sit flat against the hip, deep enough to hold keys or a phone without dragging the waistband down.
