We cut these sweatpants with a distinct barrel leg that curves out through the calf before tapering gently at the hem. Inside, the knit is brushed into a soft fleece for cold weather. An elasticated waistband with an integrated drawcord keeps the fit secure.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Barrel leg shape
The outer seam bows outward through the leg and pulls back in toward the bottom opening. This gives the heavyweight fleece structure while keeping the leg roomy to move in.
Brushed fleece interior
We used a substantial knit fabric with a smooth face and a lofted, brushed fleece backing. The inner surface traps warmth without adding unnecessary bulk along the outer hip line.
Drawstring waistband
The wide waistband encases a flexible elastic band reinforced with parallel rows of stitching. A matching woven drawcord threads through the front channel so you can adjust the gather.
Deep side pockets
Two inset pockets sit along the side seams, deep enough to hold a phone or keys without distorting the outer curve of the trousers. Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle.
