We cut this cropped shrug with an open front and a short hem that clears the waistband. The yarn is soft and flexible, knit with an open eyelet pattern that stays light over sleeveless dresses and shirts. Long sleeves give full arm coverage without adding heavy bulk.

Open front cut
The front falls open without buttons or ties, dropping cleanly past the collarbone. It sits light across the shoulders and lets the layer underneath show through.
Eyelet knit stitch
We used an open eyelet stitch across the body and sleeves. The knit has natural mechanical stretch and lets air pass through while providing light surface coverage.
Cropped hemline
The hem ends high on the waist to frame high-rise trousers, slips, and skirts. Ribbed bands finish the hem and cuffs so the edges keep their shape through repeated wear.
Laundering and care
Machine wash this piece in a mesh laundry bag on a gentle cycle to protect the open eyelet stitching. Lay it flat to dry instead of hanging to keep the shoulder seams from stretching.
