We cut this skort with tiered outer ruffles and a pair of fitted undershorts beneath. The wide elastic band anchors at the high waist, drawn close with a matching cord. The hem sweeps wide while the inner layer stays set.

The details we cut in
Waistband and drawstring
The waistband holds a wide strip of elastic that lies flat against the waist. We ran an exposed drawcord through the front channel so you can knot it tight or loosen the gather as you move.
Tiered outer hem
Two ruffles layer over the front and back to give the skirt fullness without adding heavy bulk. The woven fabric drapes loosely, finishing in a soft turnback stitch that moves freely as you stride.
Inner shorts cut
Underneath the ruffled outer shell, we cut a clean set of smooth shorts with reinforced inseams. They sit close to the legs so the light blue skirt keeps full coverage during active movement.
Cold water care
Wash on a gentle cycle in cold water with similar pale tones. Hang the skort on a line to dry in the open air, and avoid using chlorine bleach so the light blue shade stays true.
