We built this piece with the outward appearance of a tiered mini skirt over an integrated under-short. The khaki fabric gathers into soft ruffles along the hem, while the waistband uses encased elastic and a matching drawcord to hold position as you move.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Tiered ruffle hem
We set layered ruffle panels across the outer skirt to give the hem fullness and natural movement. The open edge falls freely around the integrated shorts.
Drawcord waistband
The high waistband houses an internal elastic band gathered along the top edge. We added an exterior drawcord through the front channel so you can adjust the tension.
Built-in shorts
Underneath the ruffled skirt sits a fitted interior short. The inner layer stays close to the legs during running, tennis, or court drills while the outer fabric flares.
Washing and care
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colours or wash by hand. Hang on a line to dry and avoid using bleach to preserve the fabric finish.
