We cut this skort with a wide ruffled outer layer over an integrated inner short. The high waistband pulls on with gathered elastic and ties with a front drawstring. It hangs light around the legs, dyed in a clear red.

What went into it

The details we cut in

Tiered ruffle hem

The outer skirt is cut with tiered gathers that flare out away from the hip. The open hem gives plenty of clearance through stride, jump, and reach.

Integrated short layer

Underneath the ruffled shell, we built in a smooth inner short. It sits close to the leg to provide coverage during running, court sports, and quick turns.

Elastic drawstring waistband

The high waistband uses wide elastic encased in the top seam. A functional matching cord threads through the front channel so you can knot it to your preferred tension.

Washing and care

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors, or wash by hand. Hang or line dry to keep the gathered hem in shape. Do not bleach.
