We cut this light blue shirt from a lightweight cotton blend with a soft hand. Inset lace traces the neckline and shoulders, adding texture without adding bulk under a knit or jacket. The sleeves finish in standard cuffs, and the hem falls loose over trousers.

The details we cut in

Neckline and lace

Lace applique frames the band collar and runs down the shoulder line. The open stitch lets air through, while the seams lie flat against the yoke.

Sleeve and cuff

The long sleeves are cut with enough room through the forearm to avoid pulling when you reach. Buttoned cuffs keep the wrist neat and stay put if rolled up.

Fabric weight

We chose a lightweight cotton and polyester blend for this solid light blue weave. It washes soft, holds its shape across the shoulders, and breathes well indoors.

Care routine

Wash cold on a gentle cycle and skip the bleach. Hang to dry or tumble dry on low heat, then press with a warm iron to clear any wash creases.
