We cut this top from a lightweight weave with a soft hand that stays opaque in bright light. Front pleats fall from the neckline through the chest to give the body room, while the curved hem hangs loose over skirts or waistband edges. The three-quarter sleeves finish well above the wrist.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Chest pleats and neckline
Small pleats sewn into the front seam release fullness through the chest. The cloth drapes straight down rather than pulling across the front, so the body moves freely without catching.
Three quarter sleeves
The sleeves are set into standard shoulder seams and end past the elbow, well above the wrist bone. We finished the cuffs with a flat stitched hem to keep the line clean.
Curved bottom hem
The lower edge is cut in a gentle curve that dips lower in the front and back than at the side seams. It stays untucked over shorts or trousers without bunching at the hips.
Fabric and laundering
This purple and white floral cloth goes into the wash on a cold cycle. Hang it up to dry or run it through low tumble heat, then press with a warm iron to lift packing folds.
