We cut this blouse from a lightweight, opaque cloth patterned in soft pink florals across a white ground. Fine pleats run down the front chest to give the fabric room to drape, while three-quarter sleeves end clear of the wrist. The hem finishes in a gentle curve.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Front chest pleats
We set narrow pleats into the front chest panel. They open out beneath the yoke to give the bodice ease without adding bulk at the shoulders.
Three-quarter sleeve
The sleeves are cut straight and finish midway down the forearm. The open cuff sits loose on the arm and stays clear of tabletops.
Curved lower hem
We shaped the hem with a smooth curve that drops slightly lower at the front and back. The edge is turned and stitched flat.
Fabric and laundering
The lightweight weave stays opaque in light colours. Machine wash in cold water and tumble dry on low heat, or hang the top to dry.
