The details we cut in

Smocked bodice

Parallel lines of elastic thread gather the chest section for a flexible hold that hugs the torso without stiff boning. Below the smocking, the lower hem falls loose over the hips.

Square neckline

The neckline is cut straight and wide across the front and back, keeping the collarbone clear. Elastic through the shoulder seams keeps the short sleeves seated in place as you move.

Gathered puff sleeves

Short sleeves are gathered at the shoulder and finished with an elasticated band above the elbow to hold their volume. The volume stays light because the woven cloth has little bulk.

Cold water wash

Wash this top in cold water by hand or on a gentle machine cycle without bleach. Line dry to keep the smocking elastic pliable and the floral print clear across the weave.
