We cut this two-piece set for warm-weather lounging from a lightweight jersey with generous stretch. The top features a deep V-neckline and side vents at the hem, while the shorts are finished with a high drawstring waistband and deep hand pockets.

What went into it

The details we cut in

V-neck and hem slits

The top is shaped with a deep V-neckline that sits flat against the collarbone. Short sleeves give easy room through the upper arm, and small side slits at the lower hem let the fabric move cleanly over the hips.

Drawstring waistband

We built the shorts with a gathered high-rise waist anchored by an adjustable tie cord. The casing holds its place without binding, letting you adjust the rise and tension as you like.

Side pockets

Deep front pockets sit flat along the side seams of the shorts. They give you a place to rest your hands or carry small items around the house without pulling the waistband down.

Wash and care

The navy blue knit washes in cold water on a gentle cycle or by hand. Skip the bleach and dry flat or line dry to protect the stretch. Use a cool iron only if needed.
