We cut this two piece lounge set from a lightweight stretch jersey in a muted khaki. The top has a deep V neck, dropped shoulders, and slit side seams at the hem. We paired it with relaxed shorts anchored by a gathered drawstring waistband.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Neckline and side slits
The top opens with a deep V neck and falls straight through the torso. We cut small side slits at the lower hem so the fabric sits cleanly over the waistband without bunching when you sit.
Waistband and drawcord
The shorts use an elasticated waistband threaded with an adjustable flat drawcord. It sits flat across the middle and holds the gathered fabric evenly around the hips.
Pocket construction
We built deep slant pockets directly into the side seams of the shorts. They sit flat against the leg when empty and carry small items without pulling the waist down.
Laundering and care
Wash this set in cool water on a gentle machine cycle or by hand. Skip the bleach and dry flat in the shade. If you press it, use a low iron setting.
