We cut this blouse with a square neckline and an elasticated smocked bodice that holds close through the torso. Long sleeves gather into soft puffs along the arm before tapering at the wrist. Below the waist seam, the peplum flares out to sit easily over trousers or leggings.

The details we cut in

Square neckline

We cut the neckline wide and square across the collarbone, balanced by gathered shoulders that keep the opening flat against the chest. It stays in place without shifting as you move.

Smocked bodice

Parallel rows of fine elastic thread run across the torso, giving the fabric stretch and texture. The smocking draws the cloth in close before releasing into the lower skirt.

Gathered puff sleeve

Each long sleeve is cut with extra volume at the shoulder and gathered into a gentle puff. The cloth narrows toward the wrist, keeping the fullness concentrated through the upper arm.

Peplum hem

The lower panel is gathered directly into the smocked waist and falls free over the hips. It adds room through the hemline so the top hangs clean over denim or knit leggings.
