We cut this tunic with a smocked bodice that gives through the chest, set below a clean square neckline. The gathered peplum falls loose from the ribcage to past the hip, printed in blue paisley across lightweight woven cloth. Long sleeves are cut with slight volume at the shoulder and gather into narrow cuffs.

The details we cut in

Square neck and smocking

The square neckline sits wide across the collarbone, framed by straight vertical seams. Closely spaced elastic thread runs through the bodice panel, holding the fabric close through the chest while allowing it to stretch and recover.

Puffed long sleeve

We gathered the sleeve head into the shoulder seam to build a soft puff before the fabric falls straight down the arm. A narrow elasticated finish at each wrist keeps the cuff in place when pushed up the forearm.

Gathered peplum hem

Below the smocked section, the fabric releases into a loose peplum. The seam sits high on the waist, letting the hem drop free over trousers or leggings without pulling.

Cold water care

Machine wash or hand wash in cold water using a gentle cycle. Hang or line dry to protect the fine elastic smocking threads, and avoid bleach to keep the blue paisley print clear.
