We cut this long sleeve layer from a lightweight quick-dry knit with a UPF 50+ maker rating. The quarter-zip front runs up into a tall collar with a zipper garage at the chin. Deep side pockets sit along the seam line for keys or cards on the trail.

The details we cut in

Collar and quarter zip

A stand collar sits close around the neck and opens down the chest with a nylon zipper. We finished the top of the placket with a fabric chin guard so the metal pull does not press against the throat.

Sleeve and thumbholes

The long sleeves finish with integrated thumbholes at the cuff. They keep the sleeve pulled down over the back of the hand while you swing a club, jog, or carry walking poles.

Fabric and rating

The fabric is a lightweight synthetic knit with a quick-drying weave and a UPF 50+ rating. It packs down small into a pack and dries fast after washing.

Pockets and hem

Side pockets are sewn into the forward side seams to lie flat against the hip. The hem falls straight past the waistband to sit comfortably over shorts or trail pants.
