We cut this long sleeve trail layer from a quick-dry technical knit with a UPF 50+ rating. The front opens with a quarter-length zipper that pulls up into a high stand collar, finished with a chin guard to keep the metal off your neck. Deep purple cloth gives the piece a solid, saturated tone.

What went into it

The details we cut in

Quarter zip stand collar

The short front zipper lets you vent the neckline when working uphill. Zipped high, the stand collar sits close around the throat, and a folded fabric garage caps the pull.

Thumbhole sleeves

We extended the sleeves slightly through the wrist and set low-profile thumb loops into the cuff seams. The cuffs anchor across the back of the hand without twisting.

Side seam pockets

Two low pockets sit along the side seams for keys or a trail pass. We kept the openings flat to avoid bulk under a hip belt or pack harness.

Care and wash

Wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colours and hang the pullover to dry. The knit sheds water quickly and needs no iron after drying.
