We cut this sleeveless vest from a soft, high-pile fleece that stays fuzzy on both face and interior. The straight hem drops over the waistband, and the stand collar zips straight up to the chin. It layers over thin knits or heavier long sleeves.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Stand collar and zip
The center front closes with a full-length zipper running up into a tall stand collar. It zips completely closed when the wind picks up, or lies flat against the neck when unfastened.
High-pile fleece fabric
We chose an unlined faux fur sherpa knit with loft on both sides. The knit holds its body without adding bulk, and the purple tone stays rich through the weave.
Armhole and torso cut
The sleeveless arm openings are cut wide enough to clear a sweater seam without binding. The torso falls straight to the lower hip so it does not bunch over trousers.
Side pocket construction
Two drop-in side pockets sit inset along the front seams. They provide a place to tuck hands or carry small items without pulling the front zipper out of line.
