We cut this matching set from a soft, lightweight knit with plenty of give. The top has a crew neck with an inverted triangle stitch detail and side slits at the hem, while the pull-on shorts feature a high waistband and side pockets. It washes easily on a gentle cycle.

What went into it

The details we cut in

Neckline and sleeves

The top features a round crew neck with a small triangular inset stitch at the throat. Short sleeves are cut wide at the armhole so the fabric hangs straight down the torso without pulling across the chest.

Hem and side slits

We finished the top with open side slits at the bottom hem. This allows the hem to sit flat over the waistband of the shorts rather than bunching up when you sit or stretch.

Waistband and pockets

The matching shorts sit high on the waist with an elasticated band and a matching cord drawstring to adjust the tension. Deep side pockets are set into the side seams to carry small essentials.

Fabric and care

Dyed in a clean hot pink, this stretch knit is light and breathable for warm days indoors. Machine wash on gentle or wash by hand in cool water; skip the bleach and avoid high heat when ironing.
