We cut this two piece lounge set from a lightweight stretch knit that drapes loosely away from the body. The top has short sleeves, an inverted triangle inset below the ribbed round neck, and side slits along the hem. The matching shorts sit on a wide elastic waistband with a cord tie.

What went into it

The details we cut in

Neckline and yoke stitch

The top is built with a round band collar and a small inverted triangle detail stitched flat at the center front. The shoulder line drops slightly to keep the short sleeves relaxed and easy across the chest.

Hem and side slits

We split the lower hem of the tee with short side slits so the fabric sits clean over the hips without bunching. It falls straight across the front and back for a relaxed drape over the waistband.

Pockets and drawstring waist

The shorts are gathered onto a wide elastic waistband that secures with an adjustable drawstring. Deep slash pockets sit along the side seams to carry small items without pulling the leg hem out of line.

Care and print

The black tie dye pattern runs across the lightweight stretch knit. Wash the set by hand or on a gentle machine cycle in cool water. Skip bleach and use a low iron setting if you press it.
