We cut this two piece set from a light knit fabric with built-in stretch and a printed plaid pattern. The top has short sleeves, side hem slits, and a small triangle stitch at the crew neckline. The matching shorts are gathered onto an elastic waistband with an adjustable drawcord and side pockets.

What went into it

The details we cut in

Crew neck with triangle inset

The round neckline is bound flat and finished with a stitched triangle inset at the front. The short sleeves are cut straight, and small vents open up the side seams at the hem.

Drawstring waistband and pockets

We built the shorts with a gathered elastic waist and an exterior tie cord so you can adjust the pull. Deep hand pockets sit along the side seams to hold small personal items.

Lightweight stretch plaid knit

The fabric is soft and lightweight with clear crosswise give for ease around the shoulders and hips. The colourful plaid pattern is printed right through the yarn face.

Washing and fabric care

Wash both pieces together in cool water on a gentle cycle, or wash by hand. Avoid chlorine bleach, line dry or tumble dry low, and press with a warm iron if needed.
