We cut this two piece set from a lightweight knit with crosswise give. The yellow short sleeve top carries an inverted triangle detail at the crew neck and split side hems. Below, the matching shorts are gathered onto a drawstring waist with deep side pockets.

The details we cut in

Neck and hem details

A stitched triangle sits right below the round neckband, anchoring the collar. We notched the side seams at the lower hem so the tee sits flat across the hips.

Drawstring waistband

The shorts pull on over an elasticated waistband threaded with a flat matching tie cord. You can knot it loosely or pull it tight to keep the rise in place.

Side entry pockets

We set open slash pockets into both side seams of the shorts. They sit deep enough to hold a phone or house key without pulling the waist down.

Washing and care

Machine wash the knit on a gentle cycle or wash by hand in cool water. Avoid chlorine bleach and skip high heat irons to keep the yellow fabric soft.
