We cut this two-piece set from a lightweight knit with crosswise stretch. The top has a crewneck with a small triangle inset and dropped side slits at the hem, while the matching shorts sit on an elasticated drawcord waist with deep side pockets. The deep green shade runs through both pieces.

What went into it

The details we cut in

Crewneck top cut

The shirt is cut with a rounded crewneck finished with an inverted triangle stitch detail at the collar. Short sleeves give room through the shoulder, and side slits let the hem fall clean over the hip.

Elastic drawstring waistband

The shorts pull on over an elasticated waistband that adjusts with a flat matching drawcord. They are cut with room through the thigh and finish with twin needle stitching at the hem.

Side entry pockets

We set slant pockets into the side seams of the shorts so they sit flat when empty. The pocket bags are cut from the same lightweight stretch fabric as the main body.

Washing and care

Machine wash the set in cool water or wash by hand to keep the knit soft. Hang to dry or lay flat, avoid chlorine bleach, and use a low iron setting if you press the seams.
