We cut this two piece lounge set from a soft, lightweight stretch knit dyed in deep brick red. The top features short sleeves, an inverted triangle inset below the round neck, and open side slits at the hem. The matching shorts are finished with a drawstring waist and deep side pockets.

What went into it

The details we cut in

Neckline and side slits

The round neckline is finished with a small inverted triangle detail set right at the centre throat. We cut side slits into the lower hem of the top so the knit falls straight without pulling across the hips.

Drawstring waist and pockets

The shorts pull on over an elasticated waistband threaded with a flat matching tie cord. We anchored two side pockets directly into the outer seams to hold small essentials around the house.

Lightweight stretch knit

We chose a breathable, lightweight knit with natural cross-grain stretch for this set. It drapes softly, moves easily when you sit or stretch, and holds its deep brick red tone through repeated wear.

Washing and care

Machine wash the set in cool water or wash by hand to protect the knit face. Hang the pieces to dry, skip the bleach, and iron only on low heat when needed.
