We cut this two piece set from a lightweight stretch knit with a soft hand and a relaxed hang. The short sleeve top has a small inset triangle at the crew neck and split side hems. We paired it with high rise shorts gathered on a drawstring waist.

What went into it

The details we cut in

Neckline and hem

The crew neck is finished with a ribbed band and a small triangle stitch detail below the collar. We gave the bottom hem short side slits so the fabric falls straight over the hip without bunching.

Drawstring waistband

The shorts sit high on the waist, gathered over a wide elastic channel that stays flat. A matching cord pulls through the front to adjust the tension, and two set-in pockets sit flush along the side seams.

Knit fabric

We chose a light, breathable jersey with four-way stretch that recovers its shape after hours of wear. The knit has a smooth surface and a muted apricot tone that reads clean in indoor light.

Care notes

Wash both pieces together in cool water on a gentle cycle or by hand. Lay them flat to dry or hang them out of direct heat, and use a low iron only if needed to avoid marking the surface.
